Why work the 9-5?
If anything has become clear as we emerge into this post-pandemic world it is that people are hungry for new ways of working. The traditional 9-5 role has a place in society, of course. But many people have now woken up to the benefits of working remotely (no commute), flexibly (in charge of your own schedule) and on contract (be in charge of your own career).
Particularly in Ireland with long commute times, expensive housing and even more expensive childcare, the ability to work remotely and flexibly is very attractive. And let’s not forget the new way of working which is hybrid working. Hybrid working has only really emerged in the last year but in an ideal world, it combines the best of both worlds: the ability to work remotely when needed but also to be able to go into the office and get that buzz and collaboration that comes from working with people in real life.
WorkJuggle was founded eight years ago, long before these new patterns of working had become mainstream. We specialise in the following types of work:
- Contract Work
- Remote Work
- Flexible Work
- Hybrid Work
- Working from Home
We also work across the following areas:
- IT (we love all things tech!)
- Marketing
- Finance
- HR
- Diversity & Inclusion
WorkJuggle was initially conceived from a desire to work flexibly by our Founder Ciara Garvan. As she explains here.
“I lost hours of my life on the M50. I would sit in traffic every day and think there must be a way around this. That’s where my idea for WorkJuggle – a website that caters for permanent but flexible roles, remote working and anything that isn’t a traditional 9-5 job – came from.”
As part of our work in this area, we have written a report with DCU titled “The Future of Work in a Post Pandemic World: A Guide for HR Managers”.
If you are exploring these non-traditional working patterns for the first time you may enjoy reading what other Irish professionals have to say about their experiences.
How does WorkJuggle find your next job?
We understand how difficult it can be for jobseekers to find a new contract. This is why we have built the Recruitment Hub. Once you sign up and create a profile you have access to the Recruitment Hub. In there is a wealth of resources on which includes a step-by-step walkthrough on how to craft your CV for the purpose of landing a new role either remote, flexible or contract. We aim to take the stress out of the job search and provide you with all the information you need to start your new job.
We also regularly hold events, previously in person at our home in DogPatch and now mainly online either as a webinar or an Instagram Live.
Looking for a new job can be very stressful. If you are working full time and looking to make a change then it can be difficult to find the time to search for a new role. If you have taken time out of the workforce and are looking to return it can also be difficult as your confidence may have dipped during your time out.
We are happy to talk you through your options and have lots of resources that can help.
