Our client who is based in Sandyford, South Dublin is looking to recruit an IT Manager, part time 3 days a week. The role will be office based with flexibility.

Our client employs approximately 50 people. To date, IT matters have been handled by the Facilities Manager and Information Security matters handled by the Head of Digital Transformation, both with the support of an external IT managed services company. Our client now wishes to consolidate all activities into a permanent (part time) role. This is a unique opportunity to make a real and significant contribution to the development of a business that is delivering a lasting impact.

This is a standalone role with no direct reports.

Responsibilities:

  • IT Infrastructure, Support & Management
  • Manage and work with a Managed Services Provider who provides IT support and services. Monitor performance against agreed SLAs and work with them on any/all ITC related projects; network improvements, and necessary remediations.
  • Manage ITC infrastructure and services for staff and the office including laptops; IP phone system; mobile phones; peripherals and accessories; MFPs; broadband; software license subscriptions and requests; video conferencing equipment, etc.
  • Manage the ITC budget.
  • Stay updated on emerging IT technologies and evaluating potential benefits for the organisation.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Ensure security and robustness of NTR data; network access and backup systems and compliance with Company Policies.
  • Support the implementation of information security projects, such as data classification, approved software schedule, etc.
  • Perform regular security checks on network users, access levels, etc per Compliance Schedule.
  • Support the 3rd party IT audits, network and security assessments, etc., and manage any corrective actions and improvement processes.
  • Administer, maintain and continually enhance Business Continuity Plan and Incident Response Plan.
  • Technical Support & Training
  • Alongside the Managed Services Provider:
  • IT onsite support to staff in conjunction with the outsourced helpdesk;
  • Manage security and network remediations (including outputs from monthly SIEM/SOC vulnerability scans).
  • Manage and oversee Sharepoint, working with Sharepoint Site Owners, ensuring adherence to company policies and good standards of operation.
  • Support our cloud systems/applications in the areas of day-to-day security, data backup and recovery, technical/admin management, policy compliance, etc.
  • Manage the ITC aspect of employee new joiner set-ups and leaver processes (including equipment purchase/retrieval, laptop builds, network connections/disconnections, etc).
  • Develop and support general ITC training for staff.
  • Administer NTR infoSec cloud training platform and phishing test campaigns.
  • Support ad hoc out of hours emergency or scheduled engineering assistance.
  • Ad hoc ITC support and duties.
  • Reporting, Process & Procedure Documentation
  • Manage the ITC asset register.
  • Develop and compile periodic ITC KPI Dashboard (tickets; backups; remediations; budget; SIEM/SOC; etc) to monitor processes and identify improvement actions.
  • Maintain logs of significant incidents and their resolutions.
  • Ensure that ITC processes/procedures and network documentation are up-to-date and maintained.
  • Ensure that all ITC/Information Security related policies are fit for purpose and up to date.

Requirements of the Role:

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented hands-on IT professional with a consistent record of achievement. Ideally, they will be comfortable implementing and evolving effective IT processes and systems.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an IT Management role.
  • Solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of IT control environments in an SME organisation, cybersecurity principles, as well as safeguarding data and systems.
  • Ability to manage IT budgets effectively, maximizing the use of resources.
  • Self-motivated and adept at working independently.
  • Loves to execute — focused on the end result for the business, action oriented, wants to get things done.
  • Ability to tailor ITC and systems solutions to our business and culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
